It is necessary to determine the correct path taken by muscles and tendons around bones and other obstacles for accurate force and torque computations. In this talk, I will present a fast wrapping algorithm that's designed to work with analytic parametric surfaces, which utilizes natural geodesic variations in conjunction with Newton's method to iteratively converge on a valid wrapping path. Required mathematical topics (mainly differential geometry of curves and surfaces) will also be briefly reviewed. TPPIC:omar.jpg DIONE:Health and safety inspection, 3:15 Sept 22.
