Abstract:
I'll be presenting the above article from CACM by Pedro Domingos about some of the "folk knowledge" needed to apply machine learning in the real world. Developing successful machine learning applications requires a substantial amount of "black art" that is hard to find in textbooks. We cover some pitfalls to avoid, important issues to focus on, and answers to common questions.
