TPTITLE:A Brief History of Neural Nets and Deep Learning
TPABSTRACT:Deep learning has seen a meteoric rise in the last few years, achieving drastic improvements over existing methods on the hardest AI problems.  Deep learning approaches are now winning the major AI contests and attracting massive interest from both academia and industry.  This will be an attempt to tell the story of where it all came from.
