Title : Two-layer Islamic star patterns
Abstract:
I report on a few recent experiments in constructing 3D Islamic star patterns that are divided into two separate layers that weave over and under each other. The work is directly inspired by the sculptural designs of Rinus Roelofs, who experiments with multi-layer structures and "woven holes".
