Thank you for your interest in Taprats. You can get the distribution
by clicking on the button below. There are just a few things you should
know before you proceed.
- This software is provided for non-commercial use only. That
means that you shouldn't create designs with Taprats that you then
sell or incorporate into other commercial products. If you want
to use Taprats for commercial purposes, please contact me &emdash;
I've been selling very cheap commercial licenses to interested
- This is pretty old software, and I can't promise it will work
for you. If you want to try something a bit more recent, you may
be interested in Pierre Baillargeon's version of Taprats, based on an even older fork of my Taprats
source code, which has a lot of newer features. Some day I hope
to produce my own new version of Taprats.
The distribution comes as a ".tgz" file. Most modern operating systems
will unpack that for you if you double click it. When you
unpack the distribution, you'll get a directory containing three
files: README, LICENSE, and the program. You can continue in
your quest to run Taprats by reading the README.
If you use Taprats and you like it, I'd also appreciate if you'd
send me a short email telling me what you're
using it for. Taprats
is part of my ongoing scholarly research on patterns, art, and computer
graphics, and it helps my research along to know about all the ways people
want to use software like this. Thanks!
