Volume visualization is important for medical diagnostic. Medical volume
data acquisition is mostly done by recording many two dimensional
image slices. Therefore, these data need to be put together in an easy
to visualize volume, allowing to identify the different components of
human body using transparency. Volume rendering is one of the many three
dimensional visualization techniques. It reconstructs a volume from two
dimensional image slices in a manner that can be seen from any view and
permits selection of the components seen.
