
About me: I am a PhD candidate in the Computer Graphics lab, my supervisor is William Cowan. I am also a TA for CS488.

Hobbies and activities: Cycling and modifying my bike, teaching designers and artists to write code, making gadgets, graphic novels (reading, and sometimes writing),
reading anything that happens to be inspiring, writing, orchestral and electronic music concerts (contemporary).
1. Knitted images (Winter 2012) Generating knittable images images from an informal designer drawing and medium constraints. (source code and pictures) video
2. OutBoxed: interactions with Kinect and handmade controllers (Spring 2012) Using Kinect to take shortcut buttons outside the computer screen. Any routine object can be mapped to act as a button, make your own controllers if you like. video
3. Computational Gastronomy (Fall 2012) An experiment in data-mining and data-visualisation; using decision trees to classify professional chef recipes based on their ingredient content, cooking directions, and an informal recipe story, which chefs often include, to make inferences about patterns in personal perferences and a socio-emotional significance of a cooking or dining experience.
4. Projection Art Installations, programmig interactivity (Winter 2012, Winter 2013) Using projected patterned lighting to recolor surfaces in art installations. Experimenting with programmable, generated in real-time, interactively parametrized visual designs.
