Gaylord Willis and Ted Benhari, Old Uncle Gaylord's Ice Cream Book, Bradon, Second Edition, 1978 This book is entertaining to read because every few pages the author launches into a (well-deserved) attack on major ice cream manufacturers and all the "junk" they put into what they pass off as ice cream. However, I was disappointed by the few recipes in the back of the book. I visited Uncle Gaylord's Ice Cream Parlour on Irving Street in San Francisco. Alas, it has changed hands, and I was disappointed with the ice cream (now bought from the Mendacino Ice Company rather than made on the premise). I am told that Gaylord Willis sold his SF Ice Cream parlours and moved to Arkansas. Note: You'll have to get this book used, as it's now out of print.
