Ancient Observatory

Last Updated: September 16, 1998
Built in the 1400's, this observatory lies to the east of the central city. It has large, dragon decorated astronomy instruments. Worth going to if you're nearby; expect to spend about 1 hour here (more if you browse in their gift shop).

The observatory is atop one of the guard towers of the Beijing city wall. Most of the wall has been removed, so this is one of the few spots you can see part of it.
