Service

Service in China is, for the most part, astounding. At a restaurant, a waitress walks you to your table and waits there with you while you decide what to order. She'll often explain dishes or make suggestions (the former is almost a necessity in China, since a dish with one name can be very different things at two restaurant). If you order a bottle of something to drink, a waitress will come by your table and refill your glass for you when it becomes half empty.

At stores, there are far more sales clerks than in North America. This was a bit of a problem, since it was difficult to browse (someone would always walk up to help you).
