Forest of Steles

The Forest of Steles is the main exhibit at the Shaanxi Provincial Museum. A stele is a carved or inscribed stone slab or pillar (can you tell that I lifted that from Webster?), and all are in Chinese, so it is more interesting to look at the steles that have pictures, and of the turtles (many now headless thanks to the Red Guard) that sit beneath many of the steles. And there are a few other things to see in the museum.
