Small Wild Goose Pagoda

The Small Wild Goose Pagoda is outside the Xi'an city wall (or
rather, of the inner city wall -- it is inside the older,
outer city wall that is mostly gone). The top of the pagoda
is missing, apparently lost in an earthquake. The grounds
are nice, and you can still climb to the top, which we did.
However, I suspect it was more of an adventure for us than
it normally is: The power was out, and none of the lights
inside the pagoda were on, which made the climb up the
narrow staircases with low beams more interesting. At
the top, there was a cloud of flying bugs, so we didn't
stay too long.
