Maastricht

We took a day trip to Maastricht to see the statue of d'Artarnan.
St Servaas
The Romans built a bridge here; the current bridge was rebuilt in
the same style.
Cathedral
Underneath the city (partially under the cathedral) are the ruins of
the Roman city (destroyed around 278BC).

Natural History Museum
The natural history museum has the fossilized bones of `The Monster
of Maastricht', a 17m long sea monster.
d'Artarnan
The real d'Artarnan died leading an attack of the French army on
the city of Maastricht. A statue has been erected near the spot
of his death.
