Rome, 2005 --- Side trip to Florence

Last Updated: July 8, 2005
We took a day trip by tour bus to Florence. The tour took us to Piazzale Michelangelo, an outlook over Florence; to the Accademia, which has Michelangelo's statue of David (no pictures allowed in the museum); in to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore; to lunch; by the Palazzo Vecchio, where David was originally located; and gave us a small amount of free time near the Church of Santa Croce. You will see a lot of copies of the statue of David while you are in Florence.

A day tour is too short to see all of the interesting sights in Florence, but we're glad we went.
